AJAX v Monash Uni Blues

AJAX travelled to Monash University to take on the only other side without a win thus far this year. Both sides were desperate to gain four points.  

AJAX started with Monash and at quarter time both sides had engaged in an arm wrestle resulting in 4.3 27 apiece.   

Monash managed to kick 5 straight goals in the second quarter to AJAX’s 1 goal 9 to take a 15 point lead into half time.  Monash extended the lead to 37 points during the third quarter before AJAX started to respond.  

Showing true determination AJAX narrowed the margin to just 6 points at ¾ time.  The last quarter saw AJAX get to an 18 point lead before Monash kicked two late goals.  AJAX recorded their first win of the season by 6 points.
