Passing of Sundays player Gil Kras
The AJAX Amateur Football Club are heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected passing of #43 for the Sunday team Gil Kras z''l.
Our thoughts are with his parents Debbie & Alan, siblings Marni, Kimberly, Timna, Harley and Chelsea, their partners and extended family.
Gil was a beloved teammate, friend and part of the Sunday footy team and embodied everything it means to be an AJAX football player, both on and off the field. From the moment he pulled on the AJAX jumper, which he wore with the same pride as his beloved St Kilda colours, Gilly brought unmatched heart and dedication to the game he loved.
Gil gave everything he had on the field every time he played. Whether at training or during a game, his presence was undeniable. His encouragement, support and determination inspired his teammates to be better.
After returning from his gap year in Israel, he chose to play Sunday footy to accommodate his religious beliefs, something he was deeply passionate about. Over two incredible years with the Sundays he became more than just a teammate, he became family to so many of us. He loved to banter and the joy he brought to every moment is especially memorable to us now.
Loyal, and much loved his loss leaves a void that will never truly be filled, but we are determined to carry forward the values he brought to this Club; hard work, courage and an unwavering commitment to his brothers in the red, white and black.
