AJAX v Williamstown CYMS 

The D1 team took on Williamstown CYMS at 11:40 AM at Gary Smorgon Oval. In what was a low scoring game AJAX were in complete control leading at every break to win by 23 points.

AJAX got on the front foot early kicking 3 first term goals. Ryley Michelson was a dominant force throughout the game kicking 4 goals and providing a constant target up front. 

Jonathan Machlin and Sam Jacobs were steadying forces in defence during the first quarter and helped restrict Williamstown to 1 goal.

The second quarter was more of the same. Great play from Jesse Velleman and D1 debutant Bradley Antman saw the Jackas add to their lead, kicking 2 unanswered goals for the term. AJAX went into halftime with a 4-goal advantage. 

The third quarter was a scrappy contest. AJAX were brilliant in defence, again not conceding a goal but couldn't capitalise on their chances as they kicked 1 goal for the quarter. 

The final term saw Williamstown be extremely wasteful in front of goal. They kicked 1.6 for the quarter and squandered chances to make the game a lot closer. In the end, despite being held to 1 goal by the Williamstown defence AJAX held on comfortably to win 7.8 50 to 2.15 27.
