AJAX v Fitzroy 

The Development 1 boys took on Fitzroy at the Brunswick Street oval at 11:40am. It was a tough day for AJAX going down by 22 points.

AJAX were a bit sluggish to start, conceding 3 goals in the opening quarter and only scoring one behind.

The Jackas started brightly in the second thanks to great play from Brandon Efron and Aaron Bryer. To fans frustrations, they weren't able to capitalise on their chances only kicking one goal for the quarter and trailing by 25 points at half time. 

After a half time, rev up by coach Anthony Lebransky AJAX came out all guns blazing. They held Fitzroy to 3 points for the quarter led by defender Jordan Tonkin and were able to kick 4 goals of their own to cut the margin to 2 points at the final break.

Unfortunately, AJAX ran out of steam, only kicking one goal for the quarter. Fitzroy kicked 3 goals in the last term but didn't take all of their chances kicking 8 behinds as well. 

Next week the D1 boys take on Old Haileyburians at 11:40am at Gary Smorgon Oval.
