AJAX v Beaumaris 

The D1 boys took on Beaumaris on the Gary Smorgon Oval at 11:40am, hoping to start their season 2-0. Unfortunately, in a scrappy contest, Beaumaris were the better side, walking away winners 8.8.56 to 5.6.36.

 It was an arm wrestle in the opening term. AJAX had a 1-point lead at the first break thanks to great play from the experience of Roi Abraham. 

Beaumaris began to get on top in the second quarter. Despite the best efforts from Aaron Bryer and Jordan Bade-Boon, AJAX trailed by 12 points at the main break. 

After a half-time rev up from Coach Ant Lebransky AJAX came out on fire, kicking all the goals in the third quarter and only conceding 2 points to trail Beaumaris 5.4 34 to 5.5 35 at three-quarter time. 

Unfortunately, the Jackas couldn't keep up their momentum as they only managed to score 2 points in the final term, opposed to Beaumaris's 3 goals and went on to lose the game by 20 points.
