Round 3

AJAX v Oakleigh - Away
We travelled to Oakleigh for what promised to be a tough game of football.
With 4 late outs to key players we had to make a few positional changes to our selected line up, but were looking to get off to a fast start and compete strongly.
With the first clearance of the game, Goldman kicked long and Nankin took a strong pack mark at Centre Half Forward. She hit up Folwell 25 out on a slight angle, who lined up and split the middle with her first goal for the club.
Oakleigh then took control of the game and we found ourselves defending for the most part.
We couldn’t convert a few opportunities and whilst A Caplan, Boylan, Marget and Cobbe were trying hard, Oakleigh were on top throughout.
Riddle, in her second game for the club was getting involved and calmly slotted her first goal for the Jackettes in the last quarter.
Goldman, Klooger and Burstin never stopped trying and with Goldberg getting a bit of the ball and an exciting debut for Brophy, there were plenty of positive signs for the club this season.
With key players back this week we will look to bounce back against Bulleen next week.
Goals: Folwell, Riddle
Bests: Burstin, Riddle, Goldberg, Cobbe, Klooger, Goldman
