Round 11

AJAX v Sth Melbourne Districts - Home
Like every great Netflix show, every episode needs a title. The one has been named “Perceptions & Misconceptions”
When the alarm went off at 6:30am this morning, I did what most peeps my age do, I went straight to my Snapmap to see where all my the great Saturday Thirds players had disappeared to?
While I was comforted to find a few overseas and some at the snow, what was most concerning was the number of players apparently stranded at a place called “Whiteys Island”. My Google search and subsequent search of the ferry timetable told me that there is a boat service there that will be recommencing in a couple weeks’ time to bring those stranded on the Island back home. What relief!
But back to the thematical composition
Perception – how could you possibly win with 14 changes and a bunch of part timers who are better at beer pong than footy?
Misconception – That the above is true. And today showed that if you are all on the same page and committed as a group to the same objective, anything is possible
I was really proud of the whole team today. It was a challenging day and whatever was asked of you either individually, or as a team you accepted it and delivered
Perception – you are a great bunch of enthusiastic lads who are incredibly coachable and have a hunger for the contest
When I asked at three quarter time for more tackling using the ATAR method (A Tackling Algorithmical Record) most of you immediately thought of the obsolete academic achievement number that tells you what you’re going to be when you grow up. But, as team you delivered over 100 tackles for the day, enough to push David Kings pressure index off the scale. Incredible effort
Misconception – Coach A is a crap umpire. The lesson from today is that umpires are very complicated people who very seldomly change their minds. You can end up wasting a lot game time and energy trying to convince umpires of otherwise
So with that, we move on to next week. Enjoy the week and well done on a very solid performance today
Coach A
Goals: Gold 2, Fetter 2, Waislitz, Siegel, Weeden, N Micmacher
Bests: Fetter, Gold, Gross, La Sala, Schwarz, Friede
