Match Report
Round 6
20 May 2023
AJAX v Kew FC - Home Princes Park
On an almost beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, the Saturday Thirds were given the opportunity to redeem themselves coming of a loss to the ultrastacked Scotch team the previous week
With Adam Kahlberg leading the team for the day, the tone was set for a hard fought contest
The learnings for the week were reinforced along with a great focus on remaining positive and moving the ball quickly in to the forward line
The team got off to a great start kicking 8 goals in the first quarter which ultimately set up the victory
Our departing soldier, Ethan Gabriel dominated in the midfield. We wish him luck on his travels and look forward to seeing him again for season 2024
The backline was solid all day with the newfound combination of Lasala and Ostilly repelling most that came its way
Vogel and Andrew Joel were great targets up forward while the Southwick, Sharp and Schwartz worked tirelessly all day
We look forward to the next match against out neighbours South Melbourne
Surely someone will come up with a great name for the “cup”
Goals : Vogel 3, Gabriel 2, Joel 2, Nankin 2, Schwartz 2, Sharp 2, Kahlberg, Peker, Efron, Southwick, Klooger, Hendel
