AJAX v Hampton Rovers - Away

2 vs 4

After a hard-fought win last week against Marcellin, we go into the round equal top with Parkdale and a top 4 clash on our hands.

Going into the game vibes were high and there was great energy. Surprisingly, there was no wind at arguably one of the best grounds in the VAFA. First quarter we came out firing keeping Hampton goalless and not giving them an inch in any facet of the game. Notable mention to our smalls who were all electric.

Second quarter the same theme continued as we piled on the goals and went into the half time break with a significant lead. Unfortunately, we he had some injuries which took out our bench, so the second half was going to be a bit of a challenge but an exciting one. 

Third Quarter was very entertaining, and I’d say the best quarter we played all year which was surprising considering we had no bench. Everyone dug deep and met the challenge that was put to us. Our run didn’t stop and our want for the footy was brilliant. Think our Midfield were superb and honestly don’t think for most of the quarter we lost a centre clearance. 

Fourth Quarter it was quite evident that we had used a lot of our energy in the third and the game became a bit of a slog. We had put the game to bed, so it was more about controlling the game and playing a bit of keepings off. Our Forwards were sharp all day and were deadly with Charlie kicking 5 and as well DC and Spitta with 3 each.

All up brilliant win as we move onto next week’s game against Monash and one step closer to finals. Special Mentions to the fellas who got injured hope you are all feeling better today and wishing speedy recovery Rajesh, Mondy, Jono and Dean. Go AJAX.
