AJAX v St Kevins

In a rematch against reigning premiers, the Sunday 1s looked to get back to back wins against St Kevins in a crucial season game.
Going into the contest one win behind St Kevins, the AJAX boys had everything to play for with finals on the line in a competitive division. With a strong first quarter wind, AJAX went into quarter time the more dominant side, but with room to improve with only a one goal lead. But in a great turnaround from previous games in the season, the Sunday 1s doubled down on their pressure and offensive footy to increase the lead in every subsequent quarter. Jake Jones was a clear standout taking several contested marks around the ground, finishing with 3 goals for his efforts to match. Zack Peker was also notably strong down back, not allowing any respite to opposing forwards with his intensity. With a recent focus on playing the full 100 minutes of each and every game, a chuffed AJAX team walked away from round 9 with a resounding win accumulated across 4 quarters of AJAX brand footy. 

Looking ahead the Sunday 1s will take on Xavier College 2s as they look to charge forward with their momentum- in the past two weeks AJAX has beaten the teams placed 4th and 3rd, and are now coming for Xavs in 2nd place.
