AJAX v Old Xaverians - Away

Going into round 10 off the back of resounding wins against 4th placed SKOB, and 3rd placed St Bernards, the Jackas were primed to take on 2nd placed Xavs at their home deck. Prior to this week, Xavs were travelling strongly with only one loss to their record, with AJAX looking to add another.

A tense opening quarter saw a couple of Xavs goals coupled with AJAX inaccuracy in front of goals, before a quick pair of goals from Eitan Potash saw the Sundays pull away by 3 goals.

Following a winning first term, AJAX applied pressure, and piled on the goals to outscore Xavs by 5 goals, heading into halftime with a comfortable 78-29 lead as spearhead Amir Meyerowitz collected 6 goals for his strong hands and efforts.

The second half continued AJAX's strong momentum, increasing their lead with each consecutive quarter to run out the game 129-61 in an emphatic thumping of long time rivals. It is the first time under the leadership of Coach Ryan White, and for many other players in the team experiencing a victory of the Xavier outfit, and now places AJAX in good stead closing in on the back half of the season, as the team knocked out 3 of the top 4 in as many weeks.

Catch the Sundays next week at home as they take on no.1 placed Xavs 1s to complete their tour of the top 4 and look to cement themselves a place in finals.
