AJAX v PEGS
*AJAX Makes it Five Straight with Dominant Win at Home*
Returning to their true home at Gary Smorgon Oval after a stint as football gypsies due to Grand Prix disruptions, AJAX hit Round 5 against PEGS with four straight wins under their belt and a strong desire to make it five.
Despite missing a few key players, the Jackas came out firing, kicking four goals to PEGS' two in the first quarter, with Adam Caplan bagging two early majors. The second quarter turned into a midfield tussle, with big forward Justin Vogel proving a crucial target. At halftime, AJAX had built a four-goal lead and looked poised for a commanding second half.
The third quarter followed suit, with AJAX extending their margin to five goals by the final break. In the last term, the Jackas showed their trademark run, speed, and relentless spirit, powering home to a 36-point victory: *15.14 (104) to 9.14 (68)*.
Caplan finished with four goals, while impressive debutant Phoenix Janover added three of his own. A full team effort carried AJAX to their fifth consecutive win, and they now turn their focus to next week's showdown against Parkside at Pitcher Park.
