Round 7

AJAX v Glen Eira/McKinnon
AJAX Football Club delivered a commanding four-quarter performance to secure a 106-48 victory over Glen Eira under clear but blustery skies. Despite the challenging wind conditions, AJAX controlled the match from the opening bounce, maintaining their lead throughout and never allowing Glen Eira a way back into the contest.
A well-structured midfield and relentless pressure around the ball were key to AJAX’s dominance. Standout performances came from Toby Lipton, who led by example with his composure and ball use and Nick Lewis, who not only provided drive from the midfield but also added a goal to his name. Benji Krongold and Nick Pike were pivotal through the middle and across half-forward, while Elliot Debinski impressed with his work rate and defensive efforts.
AJAX’s scoring was shared across the ground, with Justin Vogel booting three majors and strong support from Adam Caplan, Brandon Efron, Nick Pike and Bailey Nussbaum, who all finished with two goals apiece. The team’s depth and spread of contributors ensured Glen Eira couldn’t gain any momentum.
With this 58-point win, AJAX showed they are a force to be reckoned with and will look to carry this form deeper into the season.
