AJAX v Marcellin

Just as there has been change at the senior level so too has there been change in the Development Team. Rob Patterson was appointed as coach in the off season along with Jono Machlin taking over the captaincy from the long serving Jordan Tonkin

The first game also saw a number of new faces to the team including a five players arriving from the junior club to continue their footballing journey

Despite there being a significant number of new players in the playing group, the team dominated from outset easily accounting for the opposition 79 to 11. Jono Machlin was his dependable self across the ground and flourished in his new role. Charlie Klien took on the ruck duties and gave great service to those around him including Jesse Wrobel, Toby Smorgon, Remy Spicer and Oliver Sorman. It was great to see Bailey Nussbaum start his year with a couple of goals up forward. It was a good start to the year acknowledging that there is further improvement ahead for this group
