AJAX v Glen Eira - Away

Round 10, AJAX headed to Packer Park to take on Glen Eira in less than ideal conditions. The Jackas couldn’t have asked for a better start kicking 8 of the first 9 goals of the match which proved to be pivotal in the conditions for the day. 

After an array of missed shots and dominance to start the second half for AJAX, Jordy Cohen provided the Jackas with a much needed 2 goals to steady the ship heading into 3QT. 

In Corey Zielinski’s first game as captain, he lead a very inexperienced team to a hard fought 44 point victory, leading from the front all day, maintaining our 2nd spot on the ladder heading into a well deserved mid season break. 

Jake Wrobel, shouldering most of the ruck duties this week provided Bryer and the mids with first use going forward all day, whilst Jordan Cohen and Richie Simon kicked 5 and 4 goals respectively.

In other news, Richie Simon’s form has earned himself a spot in the 2024 Big V representative team which is an amazing achievement to acknowledge his brilliant first half of the year. 

Heading into the bye rounds now, the Jackas now focus on Parkdale straight after the bye which proves to be a great and must win game.
