The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and it was one of those perfect days for footy that made us all feel like something special was in the air. From the moment we stepped onto the field, we knew it was going to be a good day.

Our warm-up was a bit sloppy. There was a bit of sluggishness as we went through the motions, but once the whistle blew, it was as if a switch had flipped. We came out strong, led by Charlie, who was celebrating his 21st birthday in style. He was on fire, kicking four goals in the first quarter alone. It was the perfect way to set the tone and give us the early momentum.

In the second quarter, we kept the foot down and really pushed ahead. Despite missing some key defenders, we managed to keep them scoreless while putting up a solid score ourselves. Our midfield was relentless, and everyone was sticking to the game plan, showing great discipline and teamwork.

As we moved into the third quarter, the team stuck together and executed our plan to use our run and carry more effectively. This strategy opened the game up for us, allowing us to string together some beautiful passages of play. The boys were clicking, and it was a pleasure to watch. 

However, the fourth quarter saw us start to show some signs of fatigue, and Monash took advantage, putting on four goals in quick succession. But just when it looked like they might mount a serious comeback, Max Herzel stepped up in the forward line. His big presence and four crucial goals helped us hold them off and secure a well-rounded team win.

A special mention has to go to Pippi, Ryan, Nico, and Rafael, who filled in for us and delivered fantastic performances. They were instrumental in keeping our momentum going throughout the match. And a special mention to Brad for coming back and playing like he hadn’t missed a beat, contributing significantly to the win.

In the end, everyone played their role perfectly. It was a true team effort, and there’s no better feeling than getting the win for Charlie on his 21st. The day was topped off with some delicious snacks from Rochelle, making it a great finish to a great day. A perfect way to celebrate a milestone and a memorable victory for the team.
